About the role

What the Team Will Do:

 

The Commercial Analyst will have an exciting opportunity to play a part in DWF's profitable growth strategy with specific focus on providing commercial financial analysis and insight needed to support pricing and other Group strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Pricing Manager, you will support the UK based strategic Finance and Pricing team and on occasion the fee earning community across the business.

You will be responsible for producing detailed, quality and timely data driven insight to support and improve quality decision making across the group.

  

 

Main duties will include:

 

  • Providing commercial, financial and analytical support for the Pricing team, Head of Strategic Finance and senior management teams designed to drive the right behaviours and enhance profitability.
  • Provide regular reporting at both high level and granular level to support the Pricing and Profitability monthly review meetings.
  • Analyse and distil insight from the reporting you produce ensuring that the reports include relevant commentary and key data themes are highlighted.
  • Use business and commercial knowledge to analyse information in a critical and insightful way, providing accurate and timely recommendations which will ensure the successful delivery of an initiative or project.
  • Support the Pricing team in scrutinising the financial performance of Practice areas in the business through ad-hoc and regular reporting requirements.
  • Providing analysis around specific client rates and liaising with the relevant teams to ensure client rates are being applied correctly and consistently.
  • Providing pricing support to the Pricing team to ensure we win profitable work.
  • Supporting wider projects and initiatives led by the Strategic Finance and Pricing team designed to enhance financial performance.
  • Development and maintenance of contract prices and renewal terms repository.

About you

 

Ideally you will have the below skills and experience

 

  • Excellent excel skills with an advanced level of expertise in financial data interrogation, financial modelling, and data visualisation to present findings to senior stakeholders. Familiarity with the challenges of managing multi-country financial reporting and systems is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to learn and know more about the business, its operations, and how we can make improvements to be more efficient. They should be proactive in seeking out new information, asking questions, and continuously looking for ways to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the company.
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to use own initiative and a proactive attitude.
  • High level of attention to detail with a significant emphasis on quality of work and a customer centric mind-set.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and pro-actively and remain focused on core priorities in a fast paced and changing environment to support the team in delivering results.
  • A proven track record in solving problems and making recommendations that consider a broad range of factors to aid the delivery or strategic projects.
  • Team player and flexible with a can do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil financial information to non-financial senior managers.
  • Experience working in a professional services organisation would be advantageous.
