Our Motor Volume team at DWF provide expertise in Motor Insurance related matters and are currently hiring for a Senior Paralegal.

About the role

The Motor Volume team act for a variety of high profile insurer companies, and defend a wide range of litigated claims arising from Road Traffic Accidents (RTA); as a result of which someone has incurred a loss, including Small Claims, Fast Track and MOJ Stage 3 cases.

 

The role represents an opportunity to have responsibility and progress a Motor Insurance (defendant) litigated caseload to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients.  Whilst ensuring high levels of service delivery and, maintaining management information under the terms of the client's service level agreements (SLA's).

  • To pro-actively manage & progress a complex litigated caseload of Motor Defendant Insurance cases to conclusion in line with CPR rules and procedures.
  • To appropriately apply the specific technical principles needed to drive the proactive settlement of the case whilst adding value for the client.
  • Research solutions to problems/issues on cases to develop your own technical knowledge.
  • Proactive use of case management systems to improve speed of settlement and adding value to the cases, whilst adhering to client requirements.
  • Work with the wider team to support any bid activities as appropriate.
  • Have knowledge of and work cases in line with all client SLA's for the files within your responsibility.

The role is hybrid, with office attendance required 2-3 days per week.

About you

We are actively seeking applications from candidates who demonstrate a real interest in Motor Insurance work and have experience in in pro-actively managing a caseload of litigated insurance cases to close.  Including the following expertise:

  • Previous experience running a Motor Insurance litigated caseload
  • Sound knowledge of the MOJ and Small Track processes
  • The ability to assess liability and quantum
  • Effective use of case management systems
  • Meeting client SLA's
  • Works flexibly in adjusting to changes in priority of workload
  • Strong communication, administrative skills and attention to detail.

 

An ideal candidate for the role will already possess the relevant skills, knowledge and experience required to effectively run a Motor Insurance caseload.
